Samādhi is a silent state of reflective equilibrium in which the mind thoroughly focused on the object of meditation. In this stance, contemplatives discern in line with what has come into being. The collected mind focuses on the aggregates of form, feeling, perception, mental contents, and consciousness—their origins and knows whereby they come to an end and obtains the concentration. It detects the path that to the ending of aggregates lead. Thus, contemplatives develop their mental absorption, remain in pleasant abiding in the present, attain knowledge and vision, establish awareness, and eradicate the defilements.
