What is Psychotherapy?
Mental health has been one of the most central topics for scholars for centuries. It has been an acute necessity for researchers to study inner conflicts and challenges. They learned to treat these inner conflicts today, known as psychotherapy. The prefix “psycho” is derived from Greek, meaning mind. Therapy is a method of curative treatment for mental health. From this perspective, psychotherapy is a form of mental health treatment that aims to help someone identify and change disturbing behaviours, thoughts, and emotions, gain ease from symptoms, maintain daily functioning and enhance quality of life.
